When artists Jesse Krimes and Russell Craig founded the Right of Return Fellowship in 2017, they showed how the art world could be transformed by creators impacted by incarceration. Through the Center for Art and Advocacy, an art gallery and platform for justice-impacted artists, they have expanded that mission, building sustainable pathways and challenging an industry often driven more by commerce than creativity.
Guided by their vision, we created a brand that centers the artwork itself. The new identity uses a tiered logo to symbolize support at every stage of an artist’s journey, with a flexible graphic system that creates both literal and visual space for artists’ work. The brand serves as a future-facing platform that amplifies artists’ voices and reinforces the Center’s role in shaping the future of the art world.
